Boston work again

Even if I am not in Boston anymore I am still working in radiology research. Writing and submitting papers, applying for conferences, traveling to conferences......
So far I was always successful, for each conference at least 2 presentations or posters were accepted. For the German Radiology Conference in May one poster was accepted and two presentations are still pending.
But it is now already sure that I will travel to Berlin in May.

Murcia

Murcia is about 70 kilometers south of Alicante and sunny warm weather invited to a day trip in this beautiful city with historic city center.
Two friends of mine, medical exchange students from Austria, had the idea and together we spent a couple of hours wandering around in the city, eating and drinking coffee in the sun.

Searching for the beach

Yes, I am in Spain.
Yes, I am at the coast of the Mediterranean Sea.
Yes, there must be a beach.
BUT WHERE???
Promising enough we started to search in a part of Alicante called Playa de San Juan (Beach of San Juan)

After each bend of rocks we expected to see a kilometer-long white-sanded beach....

We walked and walked and walked and it got darker and darker and darker....

WE FOUND IT!!!
And it is kilometer long and with white sand!

Castillo de Santa Barbara

The aim of the day: the top of the castle on top of a hill in the middle of Alicante (sometimes I really hate it because currently it is definitely in my way to the beach ;-) )

And, was it worth all the work? I think so! What a wonderful sunset!

Cabalgata de los Reyes

The Spanish find a lot of reasons to celebrate and it seems as if the speciality of the inhabitants of Alicante are huge processions.
